Support

Support for HackitzLabs software — browser extensions, Windows apps and Android apps.

Getting in touch

Most questions are answered on this page. If yours isn’t, email me — and please say which app you’re using. HackitzLabs is a one-person operation, so you’re emailing the person who wrote the software; naming the product is what gets you a useful answer instead of a request for more detail.

The links below fill in the subject line for you:

Privacy and legal enquiries go to admin@hackitzlabs.net.

How licences work

Every paid HackitzLabs product is buy once. One payment and it’s yours. No subscription, no account to create, no renewal, and nothing stops working because a card expired.

Buying and activating

  1. Buy from the product’s purchase page — there’s a link inside the app’s own Options or Settings page.
  2. Your licence key arrives by email from Payhip, the payment processor.
  3. Open the app’s Options or Settings page.
  4. Paste the key into the licence box and activate.

What happens after that

The key is checked when you activate it, then cached on that machine.

Just Cache re-checks quietly about once a week. If your connection is down, or the licence service is unreachable, a licence that was already valid keeps working for up to 30 days — you will never be locked out of software you bought because a server had a bad day.

ReTab and qBittorrent Web Downloader check the key once, when you activate it, and not again.

Where your key is checked

Licence keys are checked against a small verification service run by HackitzLabs, which confirms the purchase with Payhip. The request contains your licence key and nothing else — no browsing data, no personal information. Each product’s privacy policy sets this out in full.

I’ve lost my licence key

Email support@hackitzlabs.net from the address you used at checkout, naming the app, and I’ll resend it. You can also find past purchases in your Payhip account.

Can I use one licence on more than one computer?

Yes. Enter the same key on each machine you use — there is no activation limit and no device check. You bought it; use it on your own computers.

My key won’t activate

  • Check the key is pasted whole, with no trailing space.
  • A message about the licence service being unreachable is a connection problem, not a bad key — try again shortly.
  • Anything else, email me with the exact message you’re seeing.

Refunds

If something isn’t working for you, email support@hackitzlabs.net and we’ll sort it out.

Just Cache

Clears the cached data for one website at a time, from your browser toolbar.

What’s free, and what the licence adds

Free for 30 days with everything unlocked. After that it keeps working: three one-click clears a day, covering cached files, offline app caches and service workers, plus the full Manage Sites page one site at a time.

The $1.99 licence removes the daily limit, adds cookies and stored site data, and lets you clear several sites at once.

I cleared the cache but the page looks the same

Use Clear & reload rather than Clear. A plain clear removes the cached files, but the tab may still be showing what it already had in memory.

If a web app is still running an old build, tick Service workers in the popup. A service worker can keep serving an old version of a site by itself, and unregistering it is usually the fix.

Nothing happened when I clicked Clear

  • The page isn’t a website — browser pages and local files store no site data.
  • The site is on your protected list. Check Options.
  • You’ve used today’s free clears. They reset at midnight, your local time.

I’m still signed in after clearing

That’s deliberate. Cookies and stored site data are off by default, because clearing them signs you out. Turn them on in the popup if that’s what you want — they need a licence.

Why does it ask to read my browsing history?

That permission builds the Manage Sites list. Reading which sites you’ve visited is the only way to know which sites have cached data worth clearing. The list is assembled fresh each time you open the page, and is never saved, uploaded or shared.

Requirements

Chrome 116 or later. Clearing cached data for a single site, rather than the whole browser, needs an API that arrived in Chrome 116.

ReTab — Reopen Closed Tabs

Reopens recently closed tabs from the toolbar or the right-click menu.

What’s free, and what the licence adds

Free reopens up to 3 recently closed tabs and keeps up to 3 collections. The $1.99 licence raises the tab limit to 10, lifts the collection limit, and syncs your collections between the computers you are signed in to Chrome on.

The slider won’t go past 3

That’s the free limit. Activate a licence and the slider unlocks up to 10.

A tab I closed isn’t in the list

ReTab reads the browser’s own recently-closed list, so it can only offer what the browser still remembers. Chrome drops entries over time, and closing the browser itself clears them. Incognito tabs are never recorded.

qBittorrent Web Downloader

Sends download links straight to a running qBittorrent Web UI from the right-click menu.

What’s free, and what the licence adds

Free covers 1 torrent site. The $1.99 licence removes the limit — as many sites as you like.

Downloads aren’t reaching qBittorrent

  • Check the Web UI is enabled in qBittorrent, under Tools → Options → Web UI.
  • Check the address, username and password on the extension’s Options page match it — including the port.
  • If qBittorrent is on another machine, make sure its Web UI is reachable from this one.

It works on public trackers but not my private one

Private trackers require your session cookie to fetch the torrent file. Check the site is added in Options and that you’re signed in to it in the same browser.

Why does it need access to all sites?

Because you choose which torrent sites to use, and the extension can’t know them in advance. It only acts on the sites you add in Options and on links you right-click.

AI Content Guardian

Checks text and images for signs of AI generation, phishing or misinformation, from the right-click menu.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no licence, no purchase and no subscription. It is the one HackitzLabs extension with nothing to buy.

What is Pro Mode, and does it cost anything?

Free mode analyses content locally in your browser using built-in patterns. Pro Mode sends what you are checking to an AI model for a much more accurate answer. You choose the provider — Anthropic, OpenAI or Google — and supply your own API key from whichever you pick.

HackitzLabs charges nothing for Pro Mode, but your chosen provider bills you directly for the requests. It is off unless you turn it on and enter a key.

Pro Mode is on but I am still getting local results

When a request fails, the extension falls back to the local analysis and tells you why at the top of the result. The usual causes are a key that belongs to a different provider than the one selected, or an account with no credit. Check the provider dropdown matches the key you pasted.

Does it read pages in the background?

No. It reads nothing until you right-click and ask for a check. It does not run on page load and keeps no record of where you have been.
