JustPages for Android
A PDF reader that keeps your documents on your phone.
JustPages for Android opens your PDFs and gets out of the way. It asks for no permissions at all, and it has no internet access — a document you open stays on your phone. No account, no cloud, no ads.
Coming soon — JustPages for Android is in early development. The Google Play listing goes live when it is ready.
What it is
The same idea as JustPages for Windows, built for a phone: a straightforward PDF reader, without the sign-in wall and upload prompt that most mobile PDF apps arrive with.
Planned for the first release. JustPages for Android is being built in stages and none of this has been through testing yet, so treat the list as what the first version is aiming at rather than a description of a finished app:
Open it from anywhere
Open a PDF from the file picker, from “Open with” in Files or your mail app, or by sharing one to JustPages.
Pick up where you left off
A recent-files list remembers the documents you have opened and the page you were on.
Read and move around
Continuous scrolling, pinch and double-tap zoom, a page-thumbnail sheet, and go-to-page.
Find a word
Search the document with the matches highlighted, and step through them one by one.
Password-protected files
Open a PDF that needs a password. The original file is never modified.
Share and print
Hand the document to the share sheet, or print it through Android’s own print dialog.
Editing, annotation and page tools are planned for later releases, following the Windows version.
The app requests no Android permissions at all. Documents reach it through the system file picker, “Open with” and “Share”, which grant access to one file at a time, and it has no internet permission, so nothing you open can leave the phone.
Built to stay out of your way
A PDF reader should open your file and show it to you. JustPages does not want an account, a subscription or your documents on someone else’s server.
